Group Leader FAQ

The form called GROUP LEADER NEXT STEPS would be the first step. This form will communicate to New Hope Leadership directly about the idea you have for a future group.

If your Connect Group does not have a formal study guide or book,
here is a suggested approach to help you prepare an effective and engaging session.

🧭 USE A SIMPLE AND CLEAR STRUCTURE
Your outline doesn’ t need to be lengthy—it should comfortably fit on a single half
page and include the following components:
Scripture Passage(s)
Begin with Scripture, not a discussion topic. Let the Word lead the conversation.
Key Theme or Big Idea
Summarize the central message in one sentence.
Questions for Reflection
Use questions to spark thought and discussion (see below for guidance)**.
Application Point(s)
Provide a clear takeaway or next step that connects Scripture to daily life.
Prayer Segue
Include a way to naturally transition into prayer, whether through a prompt or
invitation.

❓ DESIGNING GREAT QUESTIONS**
To encourage meaningful discussion, follow this natural progression:
Observation:
What does the text say?
Interpretation:
What does it mean?
Application:
How should this change my life?
Use open-ended questions that invite personal reflection and real-life connections,
such as:
“Can you share a time when you experienced this truth in your life? ”
“What might it look like to live this out at work or at home? ”

The link to Rooted is HERE. The Rooted experience is a 10-week small group journey designed to bring powerful rhythms of discipleship into the life of each participant and into the life of New Hope.
Built around the 7 rhythms of a disciple, Rooted creates intentional discipleship experiences that help people cross over from knowledge of the Bible to experiences with God.
